The Sustainable Travel Guides: Poros
In 2021, a year after the pandemic and travel restrictions, my partner and I were looking for an island close to Athens that would require minimum travelling. However, we also wanted to find a place that could still offer us the feeling of adventure.
And that is where the islands of the Argosaronic Gulf enter the chat. In the gulf there are various islands, that cover almost everyone’s needs, and yet each one is unique.
Poros is one of those islands that can be accessed by both car and boat, it is 2 hours away from the port of Athens, Piraeus, and has something to offer to everyone.ย The island is perfect for medium level hiking, snorkeling, people into architecture and foodies. Additionally, it is great for history lovers, with its Poseidon Sanctuary and archeological museum. In close proximity is Galatas village with the only lemon forest of Greece.
Poros, is also a quite family friendly island, with beaches perfect for kids, wheelchair accessible and yet, there are little bays where you an find some privacy.
In the Sustainable Travel Guides: Poros you will find all the information you need for a sustainable, accessible and budget friendly trip to Poros Island. From accommodation, food, culure and drinks, to transportation and activities. I made it in a way that can be used by any one, regardless of the budget.
You can also use it all year round. I have created a ” Summer Bonus” chapter, especially for the ones planning their summer vacation. So, if you are an “off season” traveler, this guide is for you too.
In addition, you can download this guide in any device since you do not need an E-Book reader. You can downloaded it on any device that reads a pdf file.
All you need is here! Enjoy planning your trip!
